Dr. Angela Rodriguez, MD is a board-certified plastic surgeon in San Francisco who is dedicated full time to providing gender-affirming surgical care. Dr. Rodriguez had 14 years of craniofacial, aesthetic and pediatric plastic surgery experience before becoming a Gender Surgeon. Dr. Rodriguez has a special interest in Facial Feminization and is also highly proficient in Vaginoplasty and Breast Augmentation.

Gender-Affirming Surgery in San Francisco
Prior to focusing on gender-affirming surgery, Dr. Rodriguez was devoted to the care of children with facial congenital anomalies or disfigurement from trauma. She served for several years as Plastic Surgery Director of the craniofacial anomalies clinic at Valley Children's Healthcare in California. This experience served as an excellent foundation for Dr. Rodriguez to develop expertise in feminizing facial features.

Dr. Rodriguez also specializes in Vaginoplasty, including:
- Penile Inversion Vaginoplasty - Creation of a fully functioning vagina from penile and scrotal tissues. The urethra is shortened and repositioned for the purpose of female urination.
- Vulvoplasty (aka Minimal Depth Vaginoplasty or Zero Depth Vaginoplasty) - A shallow vagina and vulva using the penile and scrotal tissues are formed, the labia majora is constructed using scrotal tissue, and the clitoris is formed from the glans of the penis. A vaginal canal is not created.
- Phallus-preserving Vaginoplasty - Creates a fully functional vagina without removal of the penis.
- Revision Surgeries - Wound healing after Vaginoplasty may
require revisional procedures, which occur approximately one
year after the original operation and may include clitoral hood
creation, clitoral resizing, monsplasty, scar contracture
release of the vagina, scar revisions, labiaplasty to form a
more distinct labia minora, fat transfer to labia majora, and
vaginal deepening.
Additionally, Dr. Rodriguez offers stand-alone Orchiectomy and Breast Augmentation.

Dr. Rodriguez follows WPATH guidelines for surgery. You will need to provide:
- Two referrals from qualified mental health professionals for genital procedures; one referral for other procedures unless otherwise specified by insurance.
- A letter from your hormone specialist stating you have been on 12 months of continuous hormones for genital procedures, unless clinically contraindicated.
Financing & Insurance
Dr. Rodriguez accepts insurance and some managed
Medi-Cal plans. She also accepts credit/debit cards, cashier's
check, money order, wire transfer and medical financing via
CareCredit. Medicare is not accepted.
Booking a Consultation
Dr. Rodriguez is available for phone or in-person consultations in
San Francisco for a fee of $100. An in-person consultation is not
required for booking a surgery date. Dr. Rodríguez habla
