Dr. Ley started to develop a clinic interest in gender surgery while working at the University of Utah, researching techniques used by Gender Surgeons in Thailand. After Dr. Ley transitioned herself, she sought out and completed training focused on Gender Surgery. "It just felt like destiny," she said. "That this is what I was meant to be doing." Surgery Requirements
Dr. Ley follows the WPATH guidelines for genital surgery. You will need to provide two referrals from qualified mental health professionals, as well as a letter from your primary care provider or hormone specialist stating you have been on 12 months of continuous hormones, unless clinically contraindicated. For other procedures, Dr. Ley operates on informed consent and letters are only needed to satisfy insurance requirements.
