Dr. John Henry Pang
Fellowship-Trained Gender Surgeon
Dr. John Pang, MD is a double board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who has also completed fellowship training in Gender Affirming Surgery. Before joining Align Surgical Associates in San Francisco, Dr. Pang completed the Transgender Surgery training program at Mount Sinai in New York City. His practice is dedicated to providing the highest level of care for his transgender and non-binary patients.

- Plastic surgery residency, University of Pittsburgh (one of the top plastic surgery residencies in the United States.)

- Fellowship training in Gender Surgery, Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai, New York.
Dr. Pang is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons
(ASPS), the American Board of Surgery and the World Professional
Association of Transgender Health (WPATH).
Gender Surgery Expertise
Dr. Pang specializes in gender-affirming Vaginoplasty, and
performs the Penile Inversion, Peritoneal and Sigmoid Colon
methods. Dr. Pang takes great care in transforming genitalia into
a functional and sensate vagina with an aesthetically pleasing
vulva with labia, a clitoris and clitoral hood. In skilled hands,
Vaginoplasty is associated with high patient satisfaction. Dr.
Pang has the urology training and experience needed to perform
urological repairs, if required.
Dr. Pang is also passionate about Facial Feminization Surgery.
He uses his expertise in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic
surgery to perform the full spectrum of FFS procedures, from the
hairline and forehead, to the middle face, chin and neck.
Additionally, Dr. Pang offers Breast Augmentation, Buttock
Augmentation and Body Sculpting.
Dr. Pang performs surgeries at Marin Health Medical Center,
California Pacific Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital Surgery
Facility and Post Street Surgery Center.
Surgery Eligibility
- Mental health letter requirements per WPATH guidelines.
- Hormone therapy for one year for bottom surgery.
- No bottom surgery for minors.
Insurance & Medicaid
Dr. Pang accepts insurance, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
If Dr. Pang is not in-network with your plan, Align Surgical may
be able to do a single case agreement with your insurance company.
Dr. Pang also accepts some managed Medi-Cal plans.
Booking a Consultation
Contact Dr. Pang's office to book your phone, virtual or in-person
consultation. If you have insurance, the consultation fee of $50
may be covered. The wait time for a consultation is 4-6 weeks and
a surgery date can usually be booked within two months of your
consult.
