She subsequently completed the intensive LSU Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Residency Program, and a one-year fellowship in gender-affirming surgery under Dr. Toby Meltzer, a renowned pioneer in the field since the early 1990s.

Surgery Requirements

Dr. Yoo follows the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care. Surgery requirements include:

  • A letter of medical necessity from a qualified mental health provider.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Good physical and mental health.
  • Smoking cessation.
